Daily Office | 3.30.14

We are in the fourth week of Lent, the season in the church calendar in which we prepare for the death of Christ on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Lent is a season marked by repentance, prayer, and fasting as we prepare our hearts for the Easter celebration to come.

This prayer (or Collect) and these scriptures are taken from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer.

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
